In Chinese philosophy\, yin and yang represent two complementary and interdependent energies that exist in everything. Yin is associated with qualities such as stillness\, darkness\, and femininity\, while yang is associated with qualities such as movement\, light\, and masculinity. When these two energies are in balance\, there is a sense of harmony and wholeness.\n \nFinding equilibrium in our lives is crucial to our overall health and happiness\, and sometimes\, it’s the little things that can make a big difference! Spending time with friends in nature\, dancing to good music\, and letting loose in a safe and colourful environment can all contribute to our sense of balance and well-being. It’s about achieving a state of harmony and stability within ourselves\, like the balance between day and night or space and earth. As a family event\, we will be gathering around many children and young people. Please be mindful of this and set a good example. We are a village\, help us keep the kids safe.\nWhen you first arrive at the Ranch on Friday\, please find Crystal to get your wristband and decide where and when you would like to volunteer. Everyone is asked to volunteer a bit of time in helping our temporary village run smoothly. Whether it’s helping us out in the kitchen\, set up\, take down\, or generally helping to clean up; every little bit helps.\n \nNext\, find your home for the weekend! If you are in a cabin\, you should have received its name and a map. If you are camping\, feel free to find a place anywhere in the field or near the cabins.\nPower is first come\, first served. Power is located along the hall. Some cabins have outdoor plugs as well. If you are staying in a cabin\, you will need to bring your own bedding and pillows. Feel free to bring lights and décor to jazz up your space as well!\n \nEvery night\, starting at 8 pm\, there will be a family movie in the blue tent with popcorn. Anyone who would like to join is welcome! After the movie is over\, we ask that all the children are put to bed for the night.\n \nPLEASE NOTE: WE HAVE A ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY FOR UNDERAGE USE OF ALCOHOL OR DRUGS. If this is not respected\, participants will be asked to leave as soon as it is safe to do so and will not be welcomed back to future events.\n \nPlease properly park your vehicle in the car parking area. Leave a reasonable amount of room between cars\, so we all fit in. Cars can unload at cabins but need to be brought back down after to park. Cars can also be parked in the field.\n \nThere are bathrooms with showers and flushing toilets. Help us keep them tidy. Drinking water will not be provided\, but the tap water is potable at the ranch.\n \nPlease bring clean indoor footwear or slippers for the hall.\n \nFriday potluck will be on the back deck at the main hall. Remember to bring serving spoons if needed. Potluck is a all night affair. \n \nWorkshops and fun will begin around noon. Workshops will either be held in the hall or in or around the blue tent.\n \nPlease join us for a community supper at 5:30pm Saturday at the central kitchen building.\n \nPLEASE be aware that this is a working ranch. No dogs are allowed for their safety and the animals. No outdoor music of any kind. Please stay out of the hosts homestead area.\n \nRespect the land and area that we have once again been invited to gather on. We are a leave no trace event. Please be mindful to separate recycling from garbage. Bagged garbage and bottles can be left outside the hall. We will take them to the depot.\n \nWe hope that everyone has an amazing time!
